I lowered the rear to suit and ended up with the front being 1 inch lower than stock. I chose a rim size of 14"x 6" with 195/60/14 front tires, and 205/60/14 rear, and a basic set of Cofap gas shocks in front and rear.. And the lower you go the more radical the work, but everything that bolts on can be removed just as easily, so you can always return a slammed VW to stock, should you be so inclined. I want to lower my 63 Bug. I don't want to make it a lowered VW i just want to bring the front end down about 2 inches. I know about the drop spindles and such. I have a 64 with a 4" narrowed beam, with drop spindles and CB performance disc brakes. All together they make a killer lowered car with wide 5's. Now my 63, I want it to stay stock-ish.

Just noticed the my bug sits lower on the front right and the gap between the wheel and wing is different to the left. its lowered on adjustable beam to the lowest it will go and the rear is stock. any ideas of what could be wrong. 65 bug / 05 Golf GT TDi.

I do have stock style chrome wheels on the bug. 5.5 in the rear and 4.5 in the front. i am running 205/60/15 in the rear with about a 4 or 5 inch drop. ( the lower profile tires are tucked about 2 inches) In the front i have the stock 165/15 tires and when I turn the wheel just slightly they rub on the fender, probably because the rear is so low.
